SUBJECT: 360-DEGREE ANALYSIS REPORT SHEET
Dear Company X Leader:
We will be meeting with you to debrief your executive 360-degree report starting next month. ________ is finalizing the schedule as we speak and the dates for our sessions are forthcoming.
In the meantime, please keep your report in the strictest confidence. I am sending this report well in advance of our meeting so you can have some reflection time and analysis of the data. Please avoid speaking to staff and others about the data. It is important to go through the process with ____________to fairly assess the information and prepare a leadership action plan.
Here is one method of assessing your report. Remember a fine tool is nothing except in a skilled hand. When you review the data you need to look at trends, signals and key indicators. When reviewing the quantitative sections be careful to not over-rely on the mean or average. We ranked the questions based on a high to low scale where most of the observations fall in the “good to great” categories. Take a look at the last 15 questions in the various reports and consider focusing on these growth areas. It has always been my view that when 20-25% of the respondents fall within the mixed opinion and needs strengthening area it should be a focus area. When looking at the stratified data (breakdown by various respondent categories) note trends in how you see yourself versus your supervisor’s perceptions. Also, look at indicators from direct reports and peers. Finally, see if you can capture some common themes from the narratives…how do they support or contradict the quantitative sections?
This assessment form sheet should be an effective roadmap for you to perform a solid pre-assessment. Good luck and please honor the confidence of this data.
Answer these questions prior to our meeting and plan on bringing at least 3 copies to our meeting. The 360-degree review process is a collaborative event. Our goal is to chart the path for leadership succession and leadership development in the company. You will own the data and resulting action plan to improve your general leadership effectiveness. Good luck on your journey. Call me if you have any questions on the process at 707.748.7550 X2. This form will not be placed in any personnel file. Our meeting is intended to be a constructive coaching and career planning process.
